Castle in Osaka/ Kyoto/ Nara

We recently drove in a bus from Kyoto to Kansai Airport and somewhere between Kyoto and Osaka, we saw a castle on a hilltop, quite a distance away from the left-side of the bus, i.e. to the west. What castle could it have been? It looked in pretty good condition.
